About study programme
The aim of the master programme is to prepare highly-qualified specialists able to analyse sophistically economic, as well as economic policy, problems, to identify ways of solving them and to implement the chosen solution. The graduates will gain strong skills in data analytics, including statistics, econometrics and data mining. In addition to the macroeconomic topics, students' knowledge of corporate management and operations at home and abroad is further enhanced, making it easier for graduates to hold leadership positions in the future. As part of their studies, students can further expand their knowledge through internships at foreign universities or gain work experience through internships at home and abroad.

The graduates of Applied Economics master programme are highly-qualified specialists employed mainly in governmental organizations and public administration, in regional, European or international organizations, in the financial sector, prestigious consultancy firms or managerial positions of major companies.
After graduating from the master's programme, those interested in advancing their knowledge and analytical skills further continue their studies in the highly ranked doctoral study programmes in economics in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Study aims
To train highly qualified specialists, who are familiar with theoretical approaches of contemporary economics and contribute to identify solutions for problems arising from market conditions and as consequence of specific economic policies.
• To foster individual capacities to gain access to management positions in local, national and international government institutions, as well as in firms and advisory agencies operating at national and global level, including the ability to prepare and implement business plans.
• To provide a broad knowledge base needed to perform specialised tasks in national and international organisations, EU institutions and the OECD.
• To tailor specialised courses to practical applications in economics, thus strengthening graduates’ skills in the challenging competitive environment of the Czech and global economy.
• To equip graduates with highly qualified knowledge of the economic environment and analytical tools, geared to assess the various aspects of the functioning of economic systems in the national and global economy.
