Title
Corporate Social Responsibility Academy in V4 - Universities for Society
Code
21810049
Summary
Nowadays people live in their own world closed for other people’s needs. They are focused on their comfort and reaching their goals. Still connected to the Internet, people communicate mostly on-line and they are involved in social problems only by clicking “like” or “share” posts on Facebook. This problem is actual in all 4 countries involved in this proposal. Our proposal is dedicated to all students and teachers. We want to show them how many possibilities are around and that students and teachers can be useful and socially responsible. Outcomes of the project will help to achieve sustainable development and create socially responsible students and academic teachers. Researches (by Responsible Business Forum, the largest NGO in Poland http://odpowiedzialnybiznes.pl/english/) show that young people at age 18-25 do not know what CSR is (only 16% of them knew CSR). Social responsibility is not just about business, but also creating responsible citizens, which is the task of the entire education system, from kindergartens to higher education. The subject of CSR is increasingly being undertaken by universities around the world. Still, it is not included with the mainstream of business education. In order to change this situation in 2007, THE PRINCIPLES OF RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION (PRME) were signed - as a part of the GLOBAL COMPACT initiative (the United Nations Initiative for the Promotion and Development of the idea of sustainable development).
