Title
Hybrid Evolutionary Games and Economic Applications
Code
GA20-16701S
Summary
The project intends to provide a new methodological framework of "hybrid evolutionary games", in which the purely evolutionary aspect of the system evolves with a different time scale than that of other system states. The approach here proposed is an original one and allows to generalize some evolutionary models recently proposed in the specialized economic literature for studying the dynamic interaction of heterogeneous agents. Among the various applications that we intend to develop within the project, we can mention the dynamics of behavioral rules in oligopolistic competition for the choice of the objective function (goals) and prosocial behavior of firms, for the bioeconomic modeling with interacting boundedly-rational agents and other behavioral (micro and macro-)economic models. The project aims to analytically study the main features of the proposed models through their global analysis in order to understand the economic implications of embedding different time scales in the system and how, as a consequence, complex dynamics arise.
